TSTT ordered to independently investigate cyber-attack

TSTT had been mandated to commission an independent inquiry into the recent cyber-attack on the company.

In a media release issued yesterday, Public Utilities Minister Marvin Gonzales said he is deeply concerned about the matter.

Gigabytes of TSTT’s data ended up on the dark web following the attack on October 9th, 2023.

The company, last Friday, said the data did not include call records, transaction data, customer passwords, credit card information or financial information.

Minister Gonzales believes the situation warrants a thorough and full-scale investigation to ascertain the facts and circumstances that caused the breach.

Furthermore, he added, TSTT has also been mandated to make the facts and findings of the probe public, as long as the details do not compromise customer confidentiality or risk the integrity of the company’s data or digital infrastructure.
