Bolivia has become the first Latin American country to cut diplomatic ties with Israel.

The decision is over what Bolivia describes as “aggressive and disproportionate” military actions in Gaza.

According to a report by BBC News, the country has called for a ceasefire and announced that it would be supplying the Gaza Strip with aid.

An Israeli official has responded to the move saying it was a “surrender to terrorism.”

Elsewhere, the Rafah crossing from Gaza to Egypt is expected to open with around 88 injured Palestinians and 500 foreign nationals being allowed to leave.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military says 326 of its members have been killed in the war, most of them on or near October 7th in cross-border attacks by Hamas.
