A Tacarigua man was treated for a gunshot wound and also held for firearm possession.

During an anti-crime exercise yesterday, officers received information of a loud explosion near a popular bar in El Dorado.

On arrival, police reportedly arrested the 22-year-old suspect for possession of a Taurus pistol with a magazine and 12 rounds ammunition.

He was taken for medical attention as he was suffering from a gunshot wound to the right leg.

The exercise was conducted by officers of the North Central Division Task Force, West and North Central Special Operations Unit.
