Three Port of Spain restaurants were ordered closed after they were found to be in breach of public health standards.

A police exercise was conducted overnight on October 27th into 28th in the capital city.

The TTPS said the restaurants found in breach are located at Broadway, Independence Square and Charlotte Street but no further details were given.

Officers also seized 18 cases of mixed drinks, one case of Puncheon and two cases of white rum from a location at the Brian Lara Promenade.

Police also arrested 11 Spanish-speaking immigrants and three Chinese nationals for illegal entry into T&T.

Meanwhile, Customs officials ordered the closure of two casinos at Independence Square and Charlotte Street.

Police said that similar operations will be conducted in the run-up to the Christmas season.
