Barbados, WI Academy win rain affected Super50 games

Rain dampened play in the Super50 Cup yesterday but Barbados Pride and the West Indies Academy were still able to come away with victory.

Windward Islands got their full 50 overs in at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, making 241/8 against Barbados with a top score of 59 from Johnson Charles.

Barbados got to 148/2 in 14.5 overs – Kyle Mayers was not out on 107 from 52 balls with Barbados winning by eight wickets via the DLS method.

To the north at the Queen’s Park Oval, Jamaica Scorpions made 263/9 in 50 overs against West Indies Academy on the back of 84 from Kirk McKenzie.

The WI Academy got to 227/4 in 37.3 overs, winning by six wickets via the DLS method.

Further east, at the Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Ground in St Augustine, Guyana Harpy Eagles and CCC saw their game washed out.

The game got as far as seeing Guyana bowled out for 177 and CCC making 86/5 in 15 overs before it was declared a no-result.

Today, T&T Red Force will face Leeward Islands Hurricanes from 1pm at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.
