A 23-year-old woman was arrested after police seized 600 rounds of ammunition during mobile patrols yesterday.

Officers acted on information and stopped a white Hyundai Elantra with two occupants along Mandela Drive, Orange Field Road, Carapichaima.

The driver allegedly came out of the vehicle, pointed a firearm and began shooting.

Police returned fire, but the driver escaped on foot.

The other occupant, a woman, was arrested after the ammunition was found in the vehicle.
