RIC publishes list of residential light bill calculations

The RIC has released a list of residential electricity bill calculations taking into account the maximum suggested rate increases.

Via its social media, it showed what bill increases could look like based on the RIC’s Final Determination which also suggested a move from a light bill every two months, to a bill every month.

The RIC’s calculations show that for those with a current bill of around $400 every two months, the new monthly bill would come in at $239.

Those with a current bi-monthly bill of $800 would pay $511 every month, while those with a bill of $1,500 every two months would pay $1,100 monthly.

The new rates and billing frequency will only become effective once notice is officially given by T&TEC, which must first go through its own process.

T&TEC is also required to give at least 21 days notice before the implementation of any rate changes.
