A UNC Senator believes the 2024 budget did not identify plans to tackle flooding and climate change impacts.
As debate continued in the Upper House this morning, Senator Jayanti Lutchmedial took government to task.
She specifically claimed that non-activation of a water pump at Tulsa Trace resulted in flooding in the area earlier this year.
Generally, she believes, the budget did not address issues of flood and related matters.
Senator Lutchmedial believes these issues should have been addressed in the budget debate, given that Works and Transport was allocated over $3 billion for 2023/24.
