Cars damaged at Pranavananda Ashram in Beaucarro

Several cars were damaged while parked at the Pranavananda Ashram in Beaucarro, after stones were thrown onto the compound.

According to Couva South MP Rudy Indarsingh, the vandals struck while a religious service was underway.

He says stones and other debris were thrown onto the compound, damaging walls, pipelines, roofs, and cars.

Two persons also allegedly came close to being injured.

Mr Indarsingh has condemned the incident, saying it is the latest in a string of attacks against Hindus in recent months.

He also lamented attacks on Muslim and Christian institutions, as he called for measures to address such attacks on religious spaces.

He is also calling on the Inter-Religious Organization to examine the issues of the attacks against religious bodies and places of worship.
