The Prime Minister and Health Minister shovelled cement today as part of an official topping off ceremony for the new Central Block at the Port of Spain General Hospital.
Following the departure of the project’s main contractor, Shanghai Construction Group, the project was split into several phases.
Speaking to the media at the worksite today, Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh said Phase 1 has now ended, with the project still within budget.
Mr Deyalsingh also gave an update on the remaining work, adding that the facility may be open by early 2025.
Meanwhile, speaking at the topping off event today, PM Dr Keith Rowley commended the local contractors spearheading the different phases.
