Valencia man held as police seize marijuana plants, seeds

A 23-year-old Valencia man is now in custody after police allegedly found marijuana plants and seeds at his home.

Officers went to a house at Mahogany Crescent between 4am and 8am yesterday and executed a search warrant.

They reportedly found 20 foreign-strain cannabis plants and 120 foreign cannabis seeds at a street value of $30,000.

Also seized were an assortment of packaging with various labels and branding and a pack containing several coloured tablets which have been sent for testing.

The suspect was taken to the Sangre Grande Police Station pending enquiries.

According to a TTPS statement, information received in September 2023 suggested that the man was allegedly using a social media platform to sell illegal narcotics.

The police operation was coordinated by the Eastern Division CID and Task Force under the supervision of Inspector Vekash Ramkissoon, Corporal Rabindranath Maharaj and PC Naresh Nanhoo.
