A newly constructed Austal Maintenance Facility has been handed over to the T&T Coast Guard.
The Facility is expected to bolster the operational capacity of the Coast Guard, ensuring the timely maintenance of capital assets.
Austal Limited is an Australian-based ship building company that specializes in the design, construction and support of defence and commercial vessels.
During his feature address at the ceremonial handover yesterday, National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds acknowledged the longstanding relationship between Austal and the Government and thanked the company for its commitment to the In Service Support Agreement signed in April 2022.
Also present at the handover ceremony were Acting High Commissioner of Australia to T&T Her Excellency Melissa Mitchell; Permanent Secretary (Ag.) in the Ministry of National Security Nataki Atiba-Dilchan; Chief of Defence Staff Air Vice Marshal Darryl Daniel; Acting Commanding Officer of the T&T Coast Guard Commander Aknaton Isaac; and AUSTAL’s Chief Operations Officer Ian McMillan.
