WASA has released temporary water supply schedules which will be in effect for the duration of the Pt Lisas Desalination Plant shut down.
The shutdown is to facilitate maintenance work and is scheduled to last for nine days: from Monday October 16th to Tuesday October 24th, 2023.
The Plant is owned and operated by Desalcott.
It usually provides WASA with about 40 million gallons of water per day, which is used to augment the supply to Central and South Trinidad.
WASA says other measures being implemented to mitigate the shortfall include redistributing supply from the Caroni and Navet Water Treatment Plants, ensuring capacity storage at critical service reservoirs and increasing water trucking capacity.
