Businessman Mohan Persad of Persad’s D Food King and his wife were victims of a home invasion this week.

According to the T&T Express, the 78-year-old Persads were tied up and beaten around 3am yesterday before bandits made off with cash and other items from their New Grant home.

Meanwhile, Moruga/Tableland MP Michelle Benjamin called the incident shocking and brazen.

She said it highlights the need for the Ministry of National Security, local law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders to come together and take decisive action to rid areas of rogue elements.
