Chamber President: We must sit with gov’t regarding anti-crime measures

The T&T Chamber of Industry and Commerce believes it must sit with government and develop meaningful anti-crime strategies.

In her speech at its post-budget discussion this morning, Chamber President Kiran Maharaj addressed the topic of crime.

She said the Chamber has begun the journey to find solutions to offer the national community and has indicated its desire to work with government.

Ms Maharaj said a number of NGOs and non-profit bodies have been working to lend support.

However, she believes the time has come to be more organized with the efforts and insisted that they must sit with government to work on better-targeted strategies.
