A 13-year-old girl is one of two persons shot dead in Rio Claro this morning.

Around 2:10am, police responded to a report of loud explosions at Old Mayaro Road, Libertville.

On arrival, they found Sylvan Lallan and his niece Andrea Lallan lying unresponsive on the floor of their home.

Another man was also shot – he was taken to the Rio Claro Health Facility for treatment.

Meanwhile, Mayaro MP Rushton Paray believes the murder of Andrea Lallan “illustrates the gloom and anguish” hovering over T&T.

He says the incident follows the murder of four siblings in Guanapo last week, the murder of Rio Claro businessman Kris Ramsaran in St. Helena and several other homicides.

He also believes there has still been no purposeful intervention from the Prime Minister or the National Security Minister in the wake of “such unchecked catastrophe”.
