Close to half a million dollars worth of marijuana has been seized at the Scarborough Port.
During an exercise at the Port Authority Compound yesterday, officers searched several vehicles disembarking the APT James ferry.
In a silver Nissan Sylphy, they found 60 green plastic-wrapped packets packed into a large speaker box.
These contained 32 kilograms of marijuana with an estimated street value of $432,000.
The driver, a 35-year old electrician from Barataria, was held and is assisting police with their investigation.
