1,500 seedlings of local fruit trees have been planted in Tobago by the T&T Hike and Plant Committee, in collaboration with Caribbean Airlines.

The Committee comprises of the Tobago Reforestation Watershed and Rehabilitation Programme, SEWA TT, the Green Leaf Youth Organization and the Eco-Titans Community, among others.

They went to Richmond Bay Road on September 16th, 2023 for their latest initiative, aimed at restoring forestation, maintaining biodiversity, preventing soil erosion and combating climate change.

The project also focused on educating participants on environmental issues and fostering a sense of responsibility in local residents regarding environmental conservation.

The Hike and Plant Committee has also planted 6,000 trees in Trinidad for 2023 thus far and has sights set on expanding the programme across the Caribbean.
