An Opposition MP is raising questions following a newspaper article about millions of dollars reportedly owed to government by Niquan Energy.
The T&T Guardian yesterday reported that on August 14th, 2023, government terminated its contract with Niquan over sums of money owed to it.
In a media release today, Pointe-a-Pierre MP David Lee says the Prime Minister has a duty to inform the population of the steps to be taken to ensure that Niquan repays the millions.
He says the Opposition has been calling for due diligence since 2016 to ascertain if Niquan could return value for investment.
MP Lee believes taxpayers have been cheated on this arrangement.
