The National Gas Company will purchase gas from the Cascadura field to meet its domestic supply obligations, following a Gas Sales Contract previously signed with Touchstone Exploration.

It comes after Touchstone said the field safely delivered first production on September 6th, 2023.

In a statement, NGC said the milestone was important as it was responsible for constructing associated infrastructure that tied in the facility to the domestic network.

The company began construction in September 2022 and completed it in July this year, followed by commissioning and start-up this month.

NGC President Mark Loquan said it is promising to see production from the onshore fields, as this is the second gas development in the Ortoire block within one year.
