Children’s Authority looks to raise awareness of Kinship Foster Care

The Children’s Authority is looking to raise awareness and interest in Kinship Foster Care.

This comes as it commemorates September as Adoption and Foster Care awareness month in T&T.

Kinship Foster Care is a temporary placement option where a child who has been removed from their family of origin is placed with a relative, other than the parent.

The Authority is hoping to attract eligible persons who can provide a safe, loving home for a child in need of care and protection, and to help the child maintain a sense of their culture and family connections.

Director/CEO of the Children’s Authority, Sheldon Cyrus, says, “we still believe it takes a village to raise a child, and through Kinship Foster Care we can build a legacy by making a positive impact in a child’s life.”
