TKR climb standings after defeating Jamaica

The Trinbago Knight Riders continue to shine at the CPL, after defeating the Jamaica Tallawahs by two runs on Sunday.

TKR, batting first, scored 142/8 in 20 overs with captain Kieron Pollard making the top score with 33 runs, while Lorcan Tucker and Mark Deyal chipped in with 30 runs each.

Mohammed Aamir and Kelvin Pitman each took 3 wickets for the Tallwahs.

In the chase, it was the case of another skipper leading the pack as Brandon King made 36 but Jamaica ended on 140 for 7 in 20 overs, falling short of victory by just 3 runs.

Andre Russell’s 3/34 was TKR’s best bowling figures while Sunil Narine and Waqar Salamkheil took 2 apiece.

Sunday evening’s game is the Barbados Royals versus the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

At the moment, the St. Lucia Kings stand on top with 8 points followed by Guyana Amazon Warriors with 7 points in 2nd place and TKR also with 7 points in 3rd.
