For the second consecutive day, suspects have been held and a gun seized at Bassie Street in Spring Village.

The TTPS says during an Operation Blue Line exercise between 8pm and 11:30pm yesterday, officers intercepted a Hyundai Elantra with three male occupants.

One of the suspects exited the vehicle and was able to escape, while the other two were held.

The men detained are 34-year-old from Arima and a 32-year-old from Valencia.

In the vehicle, police found a Glock-19 semiautomatic pistol, two magazines and 31 rounds of ammunition.

Residents in the area have reported an uptick in criminal activity in recent weeks, including the murder of Akel Modeste less than two weeks ago.
