A 50-year-old Freeport man was shot in the leg during an altercation with a family member over the weekend.
The victim told police that the confrontation took place 6:05pm on Saturday.
The suspect allegedly drove off after wounding the man.
Officers later intercepted the vehicle along Balmain Road, Couva, and found a revolver loaded with two rounds of ammunition.
Two suspects – a 34-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, both of Endeavour, Chaguanas – were arrested.
Meanwhile, four suspects were held and three guns seized during police exercises over the weekend.
Around 9:30pm yesterday, officers responded to a report of an armed man in a blue Nissan Wingroad at Dookiesingh Street, St Augustine.
The vehicle was intercepted along Bassie Street, Spring Village, with two male suspects held after police found a revolver loaded with two rounds of ammunition, as well as a spent shell.
In another incident, a woman was at her Kelly Village home around 1:15pm yesterday, when she had an argument with her neighbour who allegedly pointed a gun at her and threatened to shoot.
Police and Defence Force members on joint patrol responded and held the suspect, who was found with a pistol in his knapsack.
Finally, around 9:15pm on Saturday, Gang Unit officers held a suspect in San Fernando for possession of a firearm loaded with a magazine containing six rounds of ammunition.
