A man has been fined $30,000 after pleading guilty to two charges at the Sangre Grande Magistrates’ Court today.

39-year-old Alexis Williams of North Oropouche Road via Sangre Grande was fined $15,000 each for two offenses – possessing a revolver and six rounds of ammunition.

He has nine months to pay the fines, and in default, he would be imprisoned for three years hard labour.

Between 4am and 8am yesterday, police conducted raids of drug blocks and areas known for criminal activities which led them to the suspect’s home.

Officers executed a search warrant and the suspect was arrested after they found the firearm and ammunition.
