Caribbean Airlines says some international and domestic flights for August 21 are still impacted due to a high volume of sick calls from pilots.
As of 12pm, the airline says it is working on recovery flights for displaced passengers of cancelled services. However due to the number of individuals impacted, this process is currently ongoing.
It adds that its Reservations Service Centre is actively working to contact all affected customers.
And CAL notes that if a passenger’s flight is cancelled, there is no need for them to head to the airport until the airline contacts them with information about the new flight date and time.
According to the Airline, between August 19th and 20th, 75 pilots indicated that they were unwell and unable to report for duty.
It says each of these calls was received around 3 hours before the scheduled departure times of the respective flights and led to the cancellation of over 60 international and domestic flights.
