Caribbean Airlines has been awarded an injunction which orders pilots and other workers back out to work.

Yesterday, dozens of pilots called in sick, forcing the cancellation of over 30 domestic and international flights from the Piarco International Airport.

The application for injunctive relief was made yesterday and approved this morning by the Industrial Court.

It orders the T&T Airlines Pilots Association to instruct members employed by Caribbean Airlines to immediately report for duty as rostered.

It also restrains them from taking or continuing to take industrial action, including calling in sick en masse.

While the injunction names TTALPA, the Association yesterday issued a statement saying it was “unaware of any strike action being taken by the pilot body.”
