The body of a nine-year-old boy, who was swept away by a river on Saturday morning, has been recovered.

On Sunday around 8am, the Hunters Search and Rescue Team posted to social media that the body of the child, Majeed Rasheeda, was recovered.

It added “It was not the outcome we were hoping for but GOD KNOWS BEST: We commiserate with the family, friends and love ones. We thank all those involved in the effort. The Police Officers of the Arima Police led by Inspector Jugmohan, the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Services, Ag. Inspector Ronny Rampallard of the TTPS Air Support Unit, who arrived early this morning, the family and friends.SLEEP IN PEACE COOKIE.”
