Following an opening-day defeat, St Lucia Kings got into winning ways by beating Barbados Royals in match two of the 2023 CPL.

St Lucia made 201/6 batting first on the back of 40s from skipper Faf du Plessis and Zimbabwe’s Sean Williams.

Then came the star of the show – 21-year-old fast bowler Matthew Forde took 3/12 as Barbados slumped to 21/4 in their first three overs.

There was a lower-order fight back by Nyeem Young with 48, but Barbados were bowled out 147 in 20 overs – defeat by 54 runs.

Action continues tomorrow at 10am with Trinbago Knight Riders vs St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and then 7pm with Guyana Amazon Warriors vs St Lucia Kings.
