“Barbie” is now WB’s highest-grossing domestic release

“Barbie” is now the highest-grossing domestic release in Warner Brothers’ history, surpassing 2008’s “The Dark Knight”.

According to Variety, the film has crossed US$537.5 million at the domestic box office, overtaking “The Dark Knight” haul of US$536 million.

“Barbie” has so far hit US$1.2 billion globally and is looking likely to beat “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” as WB’s highest-grossing worldwide release of all time.

The “Barbie” movie, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling and Barbie and Ken, follows Barbie as she suffers a crisis that leads her to question her world and her existence.
