Flash flooding was reported in parts of Penal and Siparia, following heavy rainfall this morning.

Outgoing Chairman of the Penal/Debe Regional Corporation Dr Allen Sammy confirmed flooding along SS Erin Road, Clarke Road, Rock Road and also in Barrackpore.

However, he noted that the incidents were minor and there was a quick runoff in most areas.

Over in Siparia, the Corporation’s Chairman Dinesh Sankersingh said there was traffic in some parts due to water reaching the road, but no major incidents were reported.
