St. Augustine MP Khadijah Ameen is demanding immediate intervention to deal with escalating crime in her constituency.
Her renewed call follows an incident in which an elderly couple was beaten by four armed bandits at their home in Dry River Trace this morning.
CCTV footage of the incident shows the men exiting a white vehicle and jumping the wall to the property.
Moments later, a woman is heard pleading for mercy.
Ms Ameen says she reached out to the Prime Minister, National Security Minister and Police Commissioner on multiple occasions this year to discuss crime.
She says as recently as July 13th a letter was sent to the Top Cop on the matter of home invasions and the need for a meeting to discuss potential strategies.
However, the MP says she is still awaiting a response.
