A 32-year-old man was shot and killed by intruders at his Carapichaima home last night.

Masked men entered the house at Orange Field Road shortly after 7pm, allegedly looking for a woman.

According to reports, the suspects first confronted an elderly male relative, before venturing upstairs.

Darren Nandlal was shot while trying to keep the intruders from entering the bedroom where his wife was.

He died at the scene.
