Virtual Gen Z climate conference to be hosted in September

A free climate conference, said to be the first in the Caribbean catering to Gen Z, will be hosted in September 2023.

According to a media release, this virtual conference is a non-profit initiative led by the Journal of Caribbean Environmental Sciences and Renewable Energy in partnership with The Cropper Foundation.

It is targeting youth aged 16 to 24 years for three days of keynote sessions and workshops from September 8th to 10th.

The organizers of the event say members of Generation Z have become key voices in climate change discourse.

However, according to recent research, they feel isolated and ignored in the climate change conversation.

As such, the free virtual conference in September will see the organizers promoting sustainable, intra-regional and engaged Gen Z-led climate activism.

For registration information, follow the Journal of Caribbean Environmental Sciences and Renewable Energy and The Cropper Foundation on all social media platforms.
