Finance Minister Colm Imbert insists there will never be an inheritance tax in T&T, at least under this government.
Claims of such a tax were made in the past by the Opposition, and denied at that time by the Minister.
During a media conference today, Mr Imbert doubled down, saying rumours are continuing to circulate despite his previous statement.
Mr Imbert also stated that such a tax has never and will never be discussed at the Cabinet level.
An inheritance tax is a tax imposed on the recipients of inherited assets.
