Hawaii is battling wildfires fanned by winds from Hurricane Dora.
According to BBC News, there have been evacuations on Maui and the Big Island.
The US Coast Guard also rescued 12 people, after reports of residents escaping a blaze by jumping into the sea near the town of Lahaina, on Maui.
The Lahaina fire is one of several that have been burning – resulting in the destruction of homes and businesses across the islands
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) has since authorised the use of federal funds in Hawaii to help people affected by fires.
