Taxi drivers and residents protested this morning over poor conditions along the Manzanilla/Mayaro Bypass Road.

A taxi driver, who wished to remain anonymous, told 103.1FM News that motorists are frustrated with having to spend thousands of dollars to repair their vehicles due to the road’s poor condition.

They are calling on Works Minister Rohan Sinanan to ensure the road is fixed.

Meanwhile, Mayaro MP Rushton Paray attributed the protest to a lack of communication concerning repairs to the road which was damaged by flooding last year.

Responding to 103.1FM News via Whatsapp, Minister Sinanan confirmed that work is currently being done on the road by several different contractors.
