With a chance to seal a T20I series win against India on Tuesday, Nicholas Pooran says he is expecting a better batting performance from the West Indies.
Speaking following yesterday’s two-wicket win in the second T20I in Guyana, Pooran noted that the team is in a good place with the batting “getting there.”
Chasing 153, West Indies lost early wickets to reach 32/3 before Pooran’s 67 helped steady the ship – but there was also a late collapse from 126/4 to 129/8 before Akeal Hosein and Alzarri Joseph brought the game home with a 26-run partnership.
Speaking at the post-match session with the media, Pooran said the West Indies are bowling extremely well in patches and the batters all want to perform and win games.
After winning the first two games, West Indies have a chance to claim the series in the third game tomorrow from 10:30am in Guyana.
Following that, the series moves to Florida for the fourth and fifth matches at Lauderhill on August 12th and 13th.
