Ongoing investigations into robbery reports led to the arrest of 11 persons in the Central Division and the recovery of stolen items by
North Eastern Division officers. The efforts leading to the arrests and recovery are part of the ‘Operation Blue Line’ initiative spearheaded by Commissioner of
Police Erla Harewood-Christopher to help decrease criminal activity through intelligence-led police work.
Nine men and two women are presently detained and assisting police in relation to several home invasions in the Central Division. Officers of the Specialist Investigative Unit, based on information received, proceeded to River Branch Road, Caroni where they executed a search warrant. While there, they observed nine men fitting the description of suspects involved in a report of robbery that took place earlier this week. The men were detained along with two women.
In a separate exercise in the North Eastern Division, based on information received relative to a report of Robbery with Violence made on July 27th, 2023, officers proceeded to an empty lot of land in Mt. Lambert where they recovered two cell phones. Enquiries are continuing.
