Natural gas supplier dealing with unplanned “technical issue”

The Energy Ministry says a major upstream natural gas supplier in T&T has had to shut in its gas production as it deals with an unplanned technical issue.

In a brief statement issued this afternoon, it says the unfortunate and untimely issue has led to a significant reduction in the current gas supply, which has in turn affected the end users of gas.

The Ministry says the unforeseen event is being given the priority urgent attention that is necessary by the upstream entity.

It also hopes that the situation will be resolved in the shortest possible timeframe.

The statement did not name the entity in question.
