Twitter is being rebranded to ‘X’

Twitter users woke up to a newly branded platform, with an ‘X’ on a black background replacing the famous blue bird that the social media site has been known for.

Twitter’s owner Elon Musk around 12AM, started tweeting about the Twitter rebrand. He even pinned a GIF that was posted by Sawyer Merritt, a Twitter user who offered the logo, which he said was used for his discontinued podcast.

Later Musk said he would probably make changes to refine the logo later.

Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino then shared the logo as well, saying “X is here! Let’s do this.” It’s now being used for Musk’s profile pic.

According to Musk ,”Tweets” will also be replaced and posts will be called “x’s”.

Mr Musk wants to create a “super app” called “X” – his vision for a new kind of social media platform.
