Lawyers for the widow of Allanlane Ramkissoon have written to NiQuan Energy and Massy Group of Companies, seeking answers in relation to his death.

Mr Ramkissoon, a pipefitter, died on June 18th 2023, after suffering severe burns to his body at the NiQuan Plant on June 15th 2023.

According to a statement from attorney Martin George, Mr Ramkissoon was the sole breadwinner for his family, which comprised his wife, Sarah and her two young children.

The attorneys have called for a full and comprehensive Report on the accident and its cause, as well as proof to show compliance with OSHA requirements.

They have also requested proposals for compensation for Mrs Ramkissoon, including damages for the pain & suffering he would have endured, loss of expectation of life, loss of earnings and pecuniary prospects, and special damages.

This is in addition to claims for any payments and benefits due to the Mr Ramkissoon such as unpaid salary, pension benefits, insurance benefits, gratuity, overtime payments and payments for unused vacation time.

Both companies were given seven days to respond to the letters.
