“Succession”, “The Last of Us”, “The White Lotus” and “Ted Lasso” lead the nominations for this year’s Emmy TV awards.
“Succession” leads with 27 nominations, “The Last of Us” has 24, “The White Lotus” has 23, and “Ted Lasso” has 21.
The Emmy Awards are currently scheduled for September 18th.
However, there is significant doubt over whether the ceremony will go ahead as planned on September 18th due to ongoing strike action in Hollywood.
Among the nominees as well is Sir Elton John, who is nominated for Best Live Variety Special for “Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium”.
If he wins, he would finally achieve EGOT status, having already won Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards (E – Emmy, G – Grammy, O – Oscar, T – Tony).
The ceremony’s broadcast network Fox is reportedly debating whether to push the ceremony back to November or even January.
