A three-tier plan has been presented by the Works Ministry to alleviate traffic in the Chaguanas Borough and surrounding areas.

The Ministry met with the business community in the area and PURE Unit Director Hayden Phillip highlighted initiatives to be executed in the near future.

According to a media release, key initiatives include:
• The expansion of the Solomon Hochoy Highway, to three lanes in both directions, from Chaguanas to Chase Village.
• A comprehensive reconstruction of the Bridal Road Bridge.
• Rehabilitation of the Caroni Road that spans from the Silver Bridge to the Uriah Butler Highway.

Ongoing projects include improvements in phase 2A of the Endeavour Interchange and improvements to the Uriah Butler Highway at various sections from Chaguanas to Grand Bazaar.
