Discussions have taken place to help improve trade, investment and cooperation between T&T and the Republic of Singapore.

On July 7th, Trade Minister Paula Gopee-Scoon met with Ambassador Karen Tan, with talks focusing on cooperation in areas such as trade, SME development and digitalization.

Ambassador Tan also shared information on potential collaborative initiatives including the Singapore Cooperation Programme and the Forum of Small States for Good Technical Assistance.

Additionally, she expressed Singapore’s aim to increase its supply chains for agricultural products, noting efforts in T&T to implement CARICOM 25% by 2025 plan to reduce the regional food bill.

Also on July 7th, Minister Gopee-Scoon received a courtesy visit Finland’s non-resident Ambassador, Pertti Ikonen, with discussions focusing on improving trade, investment and cooperation between both countries.

The Ambassador also highlighted Finland’s advancements in Renewable Energy and expressed a desire to increase collaboration with T&T in this area.
