14 illegal immigrants have been held during an anti-crime exercise in Erin.
Between 3pm and 6pm on Wednesday, officers went to the coastline near the Erin Fishing Depot, where several Venezuelan nationals were observed.
Subsequent enquiries revealed that the individuals had entered the country illegally.
A total of 16 persons – 11 males and five females, including two infants, and a teenager – were detained and taken to the Erin Police Station.
