Dancehall star Vybz Kartel says he does not have a problem with the Defence Ministry’s move to restrict his itinerary during his upcoming visit to T&T.
The Ministry recently decided against the Jamaican visiting communities or conducting media interviews during his trip.
Instead, he would be restricted to his performance at a concert on May 31st.
In a short video shared on social media today, Kartel said the promoter chose to fill his schedule with things that had nothing to do with his performance.
He added that the Ministry “rightfully” pulled the plug on those activities, which he has no problem with.
Kartel is due to arrive in T&T on May 29th.
According to reports, Defence Minister Wayne Sturge, said there were concerns over Kartel interacting with the T&T’s youths given his past legal troubles.
In 2014, he was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.
In March 2024, his conviction was quashed by the Privy Council.
