One of Mexico’s popular beauty influencers was killed in her salon during a TikTok live stream on Tuesday, by an unnamed suspect who escaped.

Reuters reported the police are investigating the murder of 23-year-old Valeria Márquez as a femicide, which is done when a woman is presumed to have been murdered in a gender-related killing.

Marquez, who has almost 200,000 followers on social media platform, was shot in her head and chest while engaging with her followers during a live stream, which was ended moments after she was shot.
