Winston “Gypsy” Peters has resigned as Chairman of the National Carnival Commission.

Speaking to 103.1FM News today, Mr Peters dismissed reports that he had intended to continue in the role until the end of his term.

He said what he did was ensure his resignation facilitated a smooth handover.

Mr Peters added that he will continue to serve T&T’s culture in whatever way he is able to.
