Transport Minister Eli Zakour is looking to address issues relating to T&T’s traffic management systems and road safety measures.

Today he met with the Chief Traffic Engineer and senior Ministry officials as part of his strategic engagements since assuming office.

During this time he was informed of the role and mandate of the Traffic Management Branch, including the National Transportation Policy, the National Road Safety Plan and current projects aimed at alleviating congestion and improving traffic flow and road safety.

The Minister believes excessive traffic remains a serious challenge for many citizens that impacts the quality of their mental health and productivity.

He added, “We must move swiftly and strategically to implement practical solutions that will reduce congestion and improve people’s lives.”
